When should I submit the hardcopies of my supporting documents?
We will ask you to submit the hardcopies of supporting documents once you receive a conditional offer. Therefore, you do not need to send the hardcopies of the supporting documents at this early stage. However, please ensure that you upload all documents onto the online application system before the application deadline or within four weeks of your account creation, whichever the earlier.

Are personal statements and reference reports required?
No, they are not required, but you can upload them if you think they will help your application.

Will the hardcopies of supporting documents be returned?

All documents once submitted will not be returned.

Will I get an acknowledgement email when I submit my documents?
​
Due to the high volume of documents received daily, we are unable to individually confirm receipt of documents. However, if any document is still missing for your application, you will be notified.

My referee did not receive the invitation email to the online reference report system. What should I do?

You may ask your referee to first check their junk email box or verify that their email address is correct. If he/she hasn’t received the email, you can ask him/her to send the referee report (not using personal email address) to maaies@hku.hk.

Is there an interview, and when will I know if I'm admitted?
Admission results will be sent to successful applicants via email on a rolling basis. If you haven't received any communication from us by August 2025, it is likely that your application is not successful.

Are scholarships available for this programme?
We do not offer scholarships for our programme.

Can I get a refund if I would like to reject my offer after settling the deposit? Can I transfer my deposit to MA Programmes at HKU?
No, fees once paid are non-refundable and non-transferable.

How many semesters? How many courses do we need to take in each semester?

The programme is divided into 2 semesters. Full-time students will take 3 core courses in Semester 1 and 3 elective courses plus a capstone project in Semester 2.

What is the class schedule?
Contact hours for core and elective courses are approximately 36 hours and 24 hours, respectively. Tutorial classes are mandatory and require in-person attendance. Generally, classes are held from Monday to Friday.

How are the courses assessed?

Assessment is 100% coursework-based, including assignments, tests, discussions, participation, oral presentations, and group reports.
